![]() ![]() Re the football club: That's what I thought at first - football clubs with foreign owners/shareholders are totally common today. A lot of it is still from the 6th Duke's time so it will be interesting to see what his son will do in the future. So that's another way to do things. They also own two private jets and probably much more. So that's still possible and I think I read somewhere that the Abbeystead estate (I think, not sure) was bought by a a trust on behalf of the 6th Duke. There was an interview with the 6th Duke where he said, when asked if he could sell everything he had inherited, that technically he still could if he wanted to. People who inherited their wealth are not seen very favourably by the public today so it's prob better for them to keep a low profile and keep their children safe instead of flaunting their wealth even more. In many cases, like with the Rothschilds and many other old money families, you can't really tell how much they own anymore bcs of these structures and that's very much the way they want it. ![]() Trusts are good for these families for a lot of reasons.
